  The Mission  
Union County Museum is owned and operated by the Union County Historical Society.
 

The Mission of the Union County Museum is:

• To discover, identify, and collect the artifacts, archives, and genealogical and historical materials which may help to establish and illustrate the history of Union County, South Carolina.

• To provide for the preservation of such material and for its accessibility, as far as may be feasible, to all who wish to examine or study it.
• To serve as a focal point for the dissemination of information regarding Union County, South Carolina and its
history. 

*Since 2018, the museum houses the largest source of genealogical material in the county with the recent addition of over 2500+ books and microfilm, donated by Union County Carnegie Library after renovations.
